GN Series Pumps Used for Solids Control and Waste Management

Besides the main equipments used for solids control and waste management systems and HDD, CBM, Piling drilling projects, like the shale shaker, desander, desilter, mud cleaner, decanter centrifuge and vertical cuttings dryer, GN also produce suitable and reliable auxiliary equipments including mud agitator, mud gun, jet mud mixer and various of pumps.

Below are some popular pumps and their applications for your information:

1. centrifugal pump GNSB Series, which is also called sand pump. It uses centrifugal force to suck the material and feed to the main equipments. In a complete system, it is widely used like the desander cones feeding pump, desilter cones feeding pump and also the mixing pump for the jet mud mixer. In trip tank for a large solids control system, centrifugal pump is also used.

In a mud recycling system for the HDD, CBM, TBM or Piling, in most cases, centrifugal pumps are used as desander or desilter cones feeding pump also, and also mixing pump for the jet mud mixers. Sometimes, per client special request, it could be replaced by a horizontal slurry pump when serving as desander or desilter feeing pump.

2. shearing pump, plays similar role as centrifugal pump, but in some special chemical transportations, it is feeding pump for jet mud mixer also and because of the different design, it could also cut the chemicals during transportation.

3. submersible slurry pump, it serves mainly 2 applications in GN series solids control system and waste management systems, the first one is centrifuge feeding pump for GNLW363 decanter centrifuges, GNLW452 decanter centrifuges and etc. The second one is the feeding pump for a mud recycling system for HDD, CBM, TBM and piling works. Unless the oil and gas drilling rig jobsite, where the drilling mud could flow directly to the shale shaker, in such mentioned projects, the mud for treating mostly comes from the mud pit. A submersible slurry pump can help to suck mud from the mud pit to the system.

4. screw pump or called mono pump. GN is not manufacturing this screw pump, but in order to match suitable screw pump for the centrifuges, GN cooperate with the German brand Netsch. Screw pumps are most suitable solution for feeding the decanter centrifuges.
