GN Drilling Fluids Recycle Module

GN Solids Control Company has entered into drilling fluids recycle modules for installation on Oil & Gas drilling.

The drilling fluids module we recommend is designed to accept flow capacities up to 1200GPM, degassing capacity of 1200 GPM, desanding unit capacity of 1000 GPM and desilting unit capacity of 1000 GPM, vertical cutting dryer capacity of 30~50 Ton/hour. An auger system is offered to transfer the drilling cuttings from shale shaker to vertical cuttings for further process. Two decanter centrifuges are also mounted on the tank after the mud cleaner units including high speed decanter centrifuge and middle speed decanter centrifuge. Middle speed decanter centrifuge is applied for recovering barite and high speed is utilized for removing the fine solids in the drilling fluids. All associated skids, tanks and pumps required for the system are included in a small space.

GN Vacuum Degasser, Efficient and Economic Solution

In the complete solids control system for the drilling rigs used in oil and gas field, there is an important equipment designed between the shale shaker and the hydrocyclones, which is not the treating equipment, but it is used to help the treating and protection the operators and the efficiency of the complete separation process. It is Degasser, used for discharge the gas bubbles in the drilling mud.
It is located behind the shaker, because the drilling mud fed to the shaker is directly from the well, and such drilling mud contains lot of bubbles, during being treated by the shaker, some bubbles may deleted themselves, and meanwhile, new bubbles may emerge on the shale shaker step. After the shale shaker, the following equipments all need feeding pumps, especially centrifugal pumps. The drilling mud containing the gas bubbles may harm the centrifugal pump, or at least, deduct the efficiency of the pump.

But they have a clear shortcoming, that it consumes a large amount of electricity, because it needs a large power centrifugal pump for feeding.
In order to avoid the above mentioned shortcoming, Chinese manufacturers designed another kind of degasser, which is vacuum degasser, by using the vacuum sucking force, it could be a  self contain unit and sucks the drilling mud in and do the degassing work. It is as efficient as the US and European ones.

Mud System Checklist

One of our customers does micro tunneling, and bought a TBM mud system from us. Which consists of double deck shale shaker, desander with under shaker, flocculant unit, and decanter centrifuge.

Here's some checklist, which they concern about.

-        Primary hose and pipes to Flocculant Unit, slurry pump and centrifuge done?

-        Flowmeter (Slurry + Flocculant) reference to electric cabinet and modifying while running with water checked / designed?

(Configurations need to be just like seen on Flowmeters as well as on the PLC)

-        Just how much is being released from the dosing screw each minute?

-        will the flocculant Unit fixed be on the ground?

-        Has got the centrifuge ever run with water at 110 m3/h and pair of.500 revolutions per minute and greatest possible differential speed?

-        will the Ac be installed?

-        will the drain hole be designed for the overflow from the Flocculant Unit?

Drilling waste management system created by GN solids control

2 solids control mud tank including shale shaker and desilter to split up the large solids collected in the offshore drilling rig.

3 cuttings moving system: we offer screw conveyor, cuttings collection hopper and Peristaltic pump to transfer the drill cuttings (from onshore drilling solids control system and also the first solids control tank) to vertical cuttings dryer.

4 drilling cuttings treatment system including vertical cuttings dryer, shale shaker and decanter centrifuge, feeding pump for shale shaker and decanter centrifuge, an entire skid to place these on the top for simple transportation.

5 frame of 20ft container size with thick felt cloth round the frame to help keep warm in cold temperature.

6 necessary pipelines, pathway, hands rails, man hole, cleaning gate and electric control system.

7 collection box for storage of cuttings, liquids

Drilling Cuttings Management System

After being treated by solids control system, the drilling liquid is recycled to the drilling rig and used for drilling again, or to be saved in liquid mud plants for future use. And the drilling cuttings discharged by the solids control system, which means the shale shaker, desander, desilter or their replacement combination mud cleaner, and decanter centrifuge could not be discharged directly, not only because of environmental laws, but also because of cost cutting. So, it is necessary to further treat the drilling cuttings by means of a Drilling Cuttings Management System.
What equipments make the Drilling Cuttings Management System?
A complete standard GN drilling cuttings system is combined by 3 kinds of components as below:
1.      Treating equipments: for further treating the drilling cuttings, there are mainly 2 stages of separation. 1st is high-G drying shaker or vertical cuttings dryer. 2nd stage is a high speed centrifuge for extra fine cuttings.
2.      Equipments for transferring the drilling cuttings. In standard design, there are 2 augers, one for collecting drilling cuttings from solids control system and feeding for the 1st stage treating equipment, the other is to receiving the solids discharges from vertical cuttings dryer. Also, there is a feeding pump for centrifuge, sometimes it is a submersible slurry pump, or a screw pump.
3.      Storage component, of course, it means tank for conserving the liquid phase from the vertical cuttings dryer and feeding for centrifuge by means of a centrifuge feeding pump.

How to Choose Suitable Equipments for a Drilling Cuttings System?
