Dewatering System for Water Hammer

As we all know there are 4 basic rules of waste handling to make it envronmental friendly. Reduce, reuse, recycle, recover. For water hammer, one of the most important reason is we need to recyle and reuse the clean water.
Reuse – solids control equipment is key to the reuse strategy.  Poor solids control efficiencies will lead to more solids entering the active system, further reducing their particle size, and ultimately resulting in the requirement to dump, or to dilute, thereby increasing volumes and costs, all of which have a negative environmental impact. 
The water hammer which is normally more expensive than the normal drilling rig, especially for the use of the water, not drinking water but need to be as clean as possible.

Generally, 4Rs can be used to describe the process of handling and treatment of the drilling wastes: Reduce&Reuse&Recycle&Recover. Reduce means reducing the wastes by some methods such as precise plan, smaller bole and selection of drilling fluids. It would be perfect if no waste generated when a well is drilled. Reuse means cleaning the waste to collect active drilling fluids by solids control equipment normally including shale shaker as 1st phase, desander& desilter or mud cleaner as 2nd and 3rd phases, and decanter centrifuge as the final phase. Recycle means to further treat the drilling cuttings after Recycle after the recovery of  the drilling fluid for reuse. Recover means to make the drilling cuttings into a hydrocarbon by high temperature treatment. Though the recovered hydrocarbon can not be used as drilling fluids, it can be used for a fuel material.

GN Solids Control Mud Recycling System for No Dig Projects

GN mud recycling system is composed with drill solids separation machines and mud mixing device, model being divided by the treating capacity into G200, G350, G500, G1000. For small treating capacity models, GN uses a double deck mini cleaner with the combination of shale shaker and desilter cones on the top. The bottom deck serves as the first phase treating machine to remove coarse solids thus reducing the solid loading on the desilter cyclones and increasing the treating efficiency of desilter cyclones. The desilter cyclones will separate finer solids out to make the mud clean enough to return the active system after mixed. The treating capacity depends on the quantity of the desilter cyclones. For large treating capacity models, GN uses a shaleshaker as thefirst phase treating machine, and a desander or a desilter as the second phase treating machine, then a desilter as the three phase treating machine if needed.

Another Drilling Waste Management System to Russia

The market is pretty quite, but China drilling waste management market is booming. From a few years ago, when we decided to invest on the driling waste managment, we never estimated the demand will be far more than solids control system. 


Beyond that, GN is the first company exported drilling waste management system to Russia, and at the first time, it is to big players, Baker Hughes. Now more and more Russian clients knows us, and get in touch with us. One more system to Russia recently. 
After sent the unit to Baker Hughes, and get very good feedback, it becomes a very popular design, also more and more competitors do the similar modifications. 
Basicly, it contains a cuttings dryer, and a centrifuge, c/w feeding pumps, flushing pumps, feeding screws, intermediate tanks, and flexible lifting frame supportings. 
For more convenient layout on site, we also have separate modular parts options. This will be shown in Shanghai CIPPE exhibition. 
Modular units for drilling waste management is becoming more and more popular, because of the small dimension and small weight, flexible for transportation and jobsite layout. Different kinds of soft pipes, screw conveyors and pumps are the blood vessel of the whole drilling waste management system, to connect the key equipment. GN SolidsControl will take the key equipment to oil show.
For the all in one system, it is more convenient to move the whole system. And after settled, the postion of the equipment is certain, for long time operations, this is easier for all theon siteoperaters.
Remark: GN vertical cuttings dryer can also be used for WBM drilling cuttings treatment. Compared with High G dryer, the treatment results is much better, however, the power consumption is much bigger. The vertical cuttings dryer is 55kw for big size cuttings dryer (GNCD930 dryer) and 37kw for mini vertical cuttings dryer (GNCD730 dryer); only 3.88kw for High G dryer (GNZS594HGE-LD). Operation cost of vertical cuttings dryer and high G dryer is almost same. The most costly operation parts for vertical cuttings dryer is screen basket; the most costly operation spare parts for high G dryer is shaker screen. They both need to be replaced after some period use.

The ways Solidification/Stabilization works

The treatment of solidification/stabilization "s/s" is the treatment of environmentally-harmful; wastes for disposal, reuse and/or site storage of land on contaminated.  It is the S/S treatment involves harmful materials mixing a binding reagent into the contaminated materials or waste. Although the terms solidification and stabilization sounds close-meaning by hearing, they describe different effects that the binding reagents create to immobilize hazardous constituents. Solidification refers to making a  change in the physical properties of a waste. The result- desired changes usually include an increase of the compressive strength, a decrease of permeability, and encapsulation of hazardous constituents. 

Stabilization at the other end, refers to chemical changes of the hazardous constituents in a waste. The desired-goal changes include converting the constituents into a less soluble, mobile, or toxic form by adding additional materials. S/S treatment involves mixing a jointed reagent into the contaminated media or waste. Binding reagents commonly used include cement, cement kiln dust (CKD), lime, lime kiln dust (LKD), limestone, fly ash, slag, gypsum and phosphate mixtures, and a various-kind number of proprietary reagents. Due to the great variation of waste constituents and media, a mixing material, design should be conducted on each type of waste. Most mix designs are a blend of the inorganic binding reagents listed above. Organic-blending have also been tried as well. These include asphalt, thermoplastic, and urea- formaldehyde. Organic binding reagents are rarely used in commercial scale due to their high cost compared to inorganic binders.
S/S is an effective treatment wide variety of organic and inorganic contaminants present in contaminated soil, sludge and sediment. The ability to effectively treat a wide variety of contaminants within the same media is a key reason why S/S is so frequently used in the remediation. Adding to the versatility of S/S treatment is the fact that contaminated material can be treated in-situ (in place) or ex-situ as already segregated waste or excavated material.

GN Desanding Unit for Construction

except solids control system for gas and oil drilling, GN solids control also designs and manufactures mud recycling system for other sorts of drilling, for example horizontal directional drilling, CBM, Tunneling, geothermal power drilling and piling. GN Desanding Plant is really a special mud making clear system for mining, piling, and horizontal directional drilling created by GN based on clients’ needs. This technique includes a working capacity of 120m3/h. This technique is made to consist of 2 stages of solids control and clarification procedure. The underside deck from the double deck shale shaker with 25 mesh screens is perfect for first stage cleansing treatment. When mud transferred towards the bottom deck for process, the solids whose dimensions are bigger compared to holes on screens is going to be released out, while fluids will mix the screens then fall into the mud tank. Then, the mud is going to be shipped towards the cyclones with a sand pump for more solids removal. Solids from the desander cyclones will fall on top deck with 40 mesh screen after which be released out. The liquid is going to be released in to the arranging tank through overflow pipes. Floating ball will close the pipeline once the mud reaches enough high, then the drilling mud after processed will flow out of the discharge port.
